so a couple of updates:
a) i'm so computer illiterate that there is an extreme possibility that i managed to delete the program that lets me download pictures. to be precise i think what's missing is actually my computer's ability to read the memory stick. oh good. i mean, its impressive, even for me.
b) i'm pretty torn up about missing thanksgiving, seeing as it's one of my favorite holidays. however, mom and i have decided to have another one over christmas so grandma and i will still be able to make our delicious stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, and you guessed it: PUMPKIN MUFFINS!!! i'll leave the turkey and pies to grandma though. she's a pro.
c) i went to london this weekend!! yeah, i saved the best for last. can we for a minute reflect on how cute the british accent is? i heard this little girl say "daddy, are they waiting for the bus?" and immediately she was 10x cuter (and smarter somehow) than any american child her age. oh but here's a newsflash: some of the bars close at 11:30! that was a bit of a culture shock, since in spain we would still be getting ready. in fact, we would just be starting to get ready.
so chris and i trekked all over london, seeing but not entering (since entry prices are suprisingly high) all the major sights in london. my favorite is, by far, st. paul's cathedral. we also saw parliament, big ben, and westminster which are all next to each other, so that was nice and easy. when we went to visit buckingham palace we also saw the changing of the guards! no lies, it was pretty cool. although the police that maintain the crowds kept blowing their super shrill whistles. kinda ruined the ambiance. we also went to trafalgar square where i embarrassed myself to no end, but couldnt stop laughing about it long enough to blush. it was horrible. chirs and i were trying to get up on a statue to take a picture on these lions but it was really high and i couldnt get up. so i kinda had to squirm up and ended up looking like a dying fish... but i was successful and got my picture so, i win. let's see what else... oh! we went to covent gardens, which is full of delicious smelling treats, and of course, we were starving. best cookie of my life. then there was a man singing opera but he was so much more than a singer! he was an entertainer, the entire crowd loved him. i wish i could his video up, he was hilarious. maybe i can put it up later. the only downside to the entire experience is that it was cold the whole time and even rained getting my feet wet. all of that + not packing warm enough clothes = a cold. but getting sick was totally worth it! LONDON BABY!

a weekend in Sevilla
so after several weeks i finally managed to spend a weekend in sevilla! granted, i didnt do much, but it was nice being here all the same.
on saturday night we literally walked all over town trying to get into clubs. we wanted to try out more spanish places. but unfortunately everywhere had private parties. seriously they were super serious about not letting people in who werent on the list. they were even rejecting spaniards. so we just ended up at buddha, our usual spot, again. but buddha´s always a good time, so hey, if its not broke don´t fix it. we went out for our friend´s birthday so i felt bad we couldnt get in someplace new. but as long as he had a good time, thats all that matters.
on sunday my friend magen and i decided to explore sevilla. the first thing we did was walk down a market next to our houses. guys, this market was one of the best things i´ve seen in my life. it was a market of puppies. i am not even kidding. it was like i had died and gone to heaven. then we got coffee and walked to the plaza de espana, which is a building in the middle of the parque de maria luisa that was built for the 1929 world fair. it was a huge, tiled, horseshoe shaped building. now its a government building so you cant go in, but you can see the main part. on the ground there are tiled niches for different parts of spain. i took a picture in the barcelona one. plus, its in the middle of this giant park with twisty trees and toooons of greenery and small paths that are suprisingly easy to get lost in. after we explored for a sold 3 hours magen and i went for tapas which were either the best or the second best tapas i´ve had here. its hard to tell because the tapas here are always super delicious. i got espinacas con garbanzos. yes i, ginny the notorious bean hater, have been broken. i now eat beans. well some´beans at least.
everyone should be glad to hear that my spanish is improving. i now can really tell just how much i suck. which is actually an improvement, odd as it sounds. but i´m getting better at conversing with sevillanos which is so much fun, because the people here are amazing. they are so chill, and accomodating. plus, they are more than happy to help with whatever you need. for my spanish class i just had to interview 5 sevillanos and ask them 10 questions about themselves, and all 5 were more than happy to do so. i think they enjoyed it even more than i did.
now you might be thinking, jeez ginny ramble much? well let me tell you: i have an hour and a half between classes today and honestly get super bored. this is the side-effect, and you just have to put up with it. or you could stop reading. but i´d appreciate it if you didn´t.
